The purpose of this course is to provide support workers with the knowledge and practical skills required to understand, manage, and reduce the use of physical restraint in disability and aged care settings. Physical restraint is recognised as an intrusive restrictive practice that should only ever be used as a last resort, when all other strategies have failed and there is an immediate risk of harm to the participant or others.

This training aims to ensure that learners understand the legal definition of physical restraint under the NDIS Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support Rules 2018, the serious risks associated with its misuse, and the conditions under which it may be applied. By completing this course, workers will be able to act safely, ethically, and in compliance with regulations, while protecting the dignity and rights of the people they support.

The Regulated Restrictive Practices Policy course provides learners with a clear understanding of how restrictive practices are used within the NDIS framework. It highlights legal, ethical, and safety considerations, ensuring support workers apply these practices correctly. Learners will explore best-practice approaches that prioritise dignity, rights, and positive behaviour support.

The purpose of this course is to provide support workers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver safe, effective, and respectful stoma care. Stoma care is a high-intensity support area under the NDIS, requiring strict adherence to infection prevention procedures, accurate monitoring, and sensitive communication with participants. This course equips workers with practical strategies to manage colostomies, ileostomies, and tracheostomies, while upholding participants’ dignity, rights, and wellbeing. It ensures all staff understand their responsibilities under organizational policy, NDIS Practice Standards, and Australian health guidelines.

This course provides an overview of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Environmental Management as they apply in NDIS, aged care, and disability support services. It ensures workers understand their legal obligations, how to follow organisational policies and procedures, and practical ways to keep themselves, participants, and the environment safe.

This course helps support workers and staff understand how to identify and use each participant’s preferred communication method. This ensures that information is shared in a way they can understand and respond to, supporting their autonomy and wellbeing.

This course provides support workers with essential knowledge and skills to safely assist clients with catheter care in line with NDIS practice standards and workplace policies. It explains the purpose of catheter care, including maintaining hygiene, preventing infection, and supporting client dignity and comfort. By the end, learners will understand how to follow care plans, identify and report potential complications, and apply infection control procedures during catheter care.

This training covers the Reportable Incident, Accident and Emergency Policy and Procedure. It equips staff with knowledge and practical skills to ensure compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards and organisational policies.

This course equips disability support workers with the knowledge and skills to safely perform manual handling tasks while minimising the risk of injury to themselves and the people they support. It covers safe lifting techniques, correct use of equipment, and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations. By the end, learners will be able to apply safe manual handling practices that protect their own wellbeing and maintain client safety and dignity.
