Course Description

This course provides disability support workers and service providers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to uphold a zero tolerance approach to abuse, neglect, exploitation, harassment, and misconduct. It explores human rights principles, staff responsibilities, reporting requirements, and safeguarding strategies under the NDIS framework. Learners will engage with real-world examples, practical activities, and reflective discussions to strengthen their role in protecting participants and building a safe, inclusive culture.

Course Outcomes

Explain the principles of zero tolerance and their foundation in human rights and NDIS requirements.

Identify different types of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and misconduct in disability services.

Recognise early indicators of abuse and understand barriers to disclosure for participants.

Apply correct reporting procedures, both internally and externally, in line with NDIS compliance.
